What is laser skin rejuvenation?
Pixel skin resurfacing is a laser that creates small pixels or 'punctures' in the skin removing the epidermis and upper dermis, treating about 20% of the facial skin with each treatment. Three to five treatments will be required to achieve the desired result.
What can be treated?
Fine lines and wrinkles will be smoother and softer in appearance. Uneven pigment and brown spots as a result of sun damage can be minimized and/or eliminated. Acne or surgical scars will become smoother.
What are the side effects?
The skin will be red and may feel sore, like sunburn, for a few days, along with some swelling. As the skin heals it may look dry and you may notice very tiny 'dots' from the laser. These are the pixels healing. The pixels will slough off over a few days. As with any procedure, there is the possibility of infection. Very rarely, there is the possibility of scarring.
